Sophie Whitehead has a wealth of knowledge of the sector and a broad experience in education matters having been the in-house Education Solicitor for Southampton City Council, a unitary authority, and a lecturer at Southampton Institute. Paris Smith has acted for a wide range of clients within the education sector for many years including both state and independent nurseries, schools, colleges, universities and local authorities, advising them on a wide range of legal matters such as property, employment, litigation, governance, contracts, commercial and charity matters. The firm sees Sophie’s appointment will provide additional value to their clients with bespoke advice on both day to day issues (such as discipline, exclusions, prosecutions, special educational needs, child protection, discrimination) and large scale projects such as the setting up of trust schools.
